Beignet Fest Announces Updated Information for Rescheduled Event
Festival to take place Saturday, December 2 from 10 am to 5 pm
New Orleans, LA (November 1, 2017) – Originally set for the first Saturday in October, the 2nd Annual Beignet Fest has been rescheduled to Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Festival Grounds at New Orleans City Park. Many of the same features are planned, with some new elements to go along with the new date.
Free and open to the public, the event will feature more than 20 beignet dishes with sweet and savory options, as well as live, local music throughout the day by some of the city’s most popular performers. There will also be a Kid’s Village presented by Ochsner Hospital for Children.
“We’re thrilled to be able to have the event this year – just on a different date,” said Festival Founder Sherwood Collins. “City Park helped us identify a new date quickly when we were faced with the threat of Hurricane Nate in the beginning of October. And all our food vendors were incredibly accommodating, adjusting their plans to participate on December 2.”
An event map and full menu of beignet dishes can be found online at www.beignetfest.com.
Due to tour schedules, the music schedule has changed as follows:
Hill Country Hounds: 10:30-11:15AM
One Love Brass Band: Noon-1:00PM
John ‘Papa’ Gros Band: 1:50-3:00PM
Both Eric Lindell and the Imagination Movers, originally scheduled for this year’s event, have committed to playing at next year’s Beignet Fest.
“Despite a couple of changes with the music schedule, the December date has actually given us a chance to add new features, one of which is a Holiday Artist Village,” said Collins. “We put the idea out there, and our local artist community responded enthusiastically.”
The following artists will be participating in the Holiday Artist Village:
Art by Jane Brewster
Fit to be Tied
John Darre Fine Art
Joshua Lee Studio
Kabuki Design Studio
Kiki Huston Jewelry
Lizano Glass Haus
Michelle Benson Huck Pottery
Shaun Alleman Art and Design
Square Peg Woodworks
Stephen Darre Art

Specifically, Adults 21+ are $50 per person and Children 4 and up are $10 each with an accompanying adult. Children 3 and under are free with an accompanying adult.
The VIP Experience includes a prime, private viewing area in front of the stage with a tented area just off to the side of the stage.
